Anders Krisár: Untitled

Anders Krisár, born in 1973, is a Swedish artist based in Stockholm. His first encounders with the artistic scene was via street art and grafitti. He later went to design school´s and worked as an art director before he, in his late twenties, left the advertising world to focus on on artistic work.
Krisár grew up with divorced and mentaly instable parents, also struggeling with alcoholism. Krisár´s artistry dives into matters concerning the human condition, often through the lens of the human body and explore early memories and themes as family and childhood. He had a close relationship with his mother, and this relationship has been at core in Krisár´s artistic practice. "So many of my works take my mother as a subject, and she never objected, and never asked me questions about any of them" is a quote from the book Anders Krisár Sculpture by Cecilia Dupire.
Krisár works in polyester, bronze, marble and leaden gold, with sculpture and photography. His sculptures can be seen as transformations of the human form into psychological landscapes - and they carry simultaneous horror and beauty.
