Stockholm Wellbeing Index 6.87

As a first step towards Wellbeing Growth in Stockholm we have created and measured a Wellbeing Index among people living in Stockholm. The results are presented in our newly released Stockholm Wellbeing Index Report. There we also present the WEC (Wellbeing Equality Coefficient) and the Coffee Indicator, two unique metrics that indicate the state and potential of the people in our city.

The report is created together with SBR, Stockhom Chamber of Commerce and Region Stockholm. The Stockholm Wellbeing Index is measured quarterly and will be an important tool to highlight potential and to follow up initiatives taken to improve wellbeing and happiness in our fantastic hometown.

Highlights from the report.

  • Stockholm has a Wellbeing Index of 6.87 (out of 10).
  • Wellbeing in Stockholm is relatively equally distributed, with a Wellbeing Equality Coefficient (WEC) of 14.4.
  • Young people report the lowest wellbeing.
  • Four factors (TACK) explain 75 percent of Stockholmers’ wellbeing.
  • Stockholmers are 4.67 times more likely to help each other than they themselves believe, according to the Coffee Indicator.
  • The Wellbeing Index has strong effects on satisfaction with living in Stockholm and likelihood of recommending Stockholm.
  • Residents’ views are characterized by three themes: nature, opportunities, and pulse.
